Tomatoes Swim Club trains year round, with a short break over Christmas. Our squad sessions are held at:

Our goal is to be in the water and swimming by 6:00am sharp (doors open 5:50am). Each session is designed by our program team to build fitness, strength, endurance, and technique over time.

Tomatoes Swim Club sessions include a mix of:

  • Technique and drill work
  • Endurance training
  • Speed and interval sets
  • Ocean swimming preparation
  • General fitness swimming

Whether you’re looking to stay fit, improve your swimming, compete in Masters events, or prepare for ocean swims, our sessions cater to all levels.

FAQs

Can I come and try a session?

Absolutely! New swimmers are welcome to come along and enjoy a trial session before deciding if the club is right for them.

Do I need to be an experienced swimmer?

Ideally, yes. A swimming background along with a basic level of fitness and confidence in the water is recommended. Our coaches focus on technique during Tuesday and Wednesday sessions to help swimmers improve and build confidence.

How far do you swim in a pool session?

  • Yellow Lane: Approximately 2.5km
  • Red Lane: Approximately 3km

Sessions are generally interval based training.

Do I need my own gear?

Ideally yes, fins, pull buoy, kick board, paddles, and a swim snorkel are all recommended. However, they’re not essential when you first start.

Is there a minimum age?

Yes, the minimum age to join Tomatoes Swim Club is 18 years old.

Do I need to be a member of Clarence Aquatic Centre?

No. You can simply join Tomatoes Swim Club and attend our sessions from 6:00am - 7:00am.
